A nameplate, BERYL, from Andrew Barclay 926 of 1902, a standard gauge 0-4-0ST new to Bell Brothers Ltd, Port Clarence, County Durham with the number 16. Taken over by Dorman Long & Co Ltd in 1923 and transferred in 1937 to Burley Ironstone Quarries, Rutland. Named BERYL in 1939. Continued to work at Burley until sent to Colsterworth East Quarries, Lincolnshire for scrap in October 1962. Cast brass, length 31¾", in ex loco condition. £500-800 |
