A worksplate, ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH, 1506, 1937, from a LMS class 5 4-6-0 No 5451, later BR 45451, allocated new to Crewe North on 21 December 1937. It moved in 1938 to Carlisle Upperby where it remained until June 1963. Its later sheds included Carlisle Kingmoor and Aintree with a final year back at Upperby from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 12 November 1966 and sold for scrap to J. McWilliam at Shettleston. Cast brass, 8¼"x5", the front repainted, a repair to the lower left corner. £100-200 |
