| Lot 2 | A worksplate KITSON, 5477 of 1936. From a standard gauge 0-6-0ST new to Stewarts & Lloyds Ltd, Corby Ironstone Quarries, Northamptonshire as 49 CAERPHILLY. Later became Stewarts & Lloyds (Minerals) Ltd and transferred in February 1962 to Glendon East Quarries. Taken over by British Steel Corporation in June 1968 and transferred in August 1968 to Storefield Ironstone Quarries. Sold for scrap in October 1969 to Geo. Cohen, Sons & Co Ltd, Cransley, Northamptonshire and cut up there in December 1969. Cast brass, 12¾"x8", in ex loco condition; a pattern of plate unique to this batch. £500-800 |
