| Lot 82 | A GWR cabside numberplate 5368 from a 43XX Class 2-6-0 built at Swindon in June 1919. Modified with a heavier front buffer beam and renumbered 8368 in February 1928, it reverted to its original condition and running number in June 1944. Allocated to Neyland by January 1948 and later Gloucester, Laira, Westbury and Reading from where it was withdrawn on 25 September 1958 and cut up at Swindon Works in the week ending 8 November 1958. Cast iron, the front repainted. £300-500 |
