A worksplate, LMS BUILT 1884, ST ROLLOX, from a Caledonian Railway 294 Class 0-6-0 No 682 which was acquired in November 1917 by the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers, ROD No 5682, but re-purchased by the CR in July 1919 and renumbered 1682. It became LMS 17271 and BR 57271. Allocated to Ayr from at least 1935 until moving in April 1950 to Polmadie from where it was withdrawn on 2 October 1961 and sold for scrap to J.N. Connell at Coatbridge. Cast brass, 10½"x6", the front repainted. £150-300 |
