A smokebox numberplate, 7815, from a GWR 7800 Manor Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in January 1939 and named FRITWELL MANOR after the 17th Century manor house near Bicester, Oxfordshire. Allocated to Gloucester by January 1948, its later sheds included Laira, Worcester and Machynlleth, finishing its days back at Gloucester from where it was withdrawn on 23 October 1964 and sold for scrap to Hayes at Bridgend on 10 December 1964. Ex loco condition, though the numbers devoid of paint. £700-1000 |
