A worksplate, HUNSLET ENGINE CO, 2895 of 1943, from a standard gauge Austerity 0-6-0ST numbered 5046 and later 75046. New in January 1944 to the War Department, Longmoor Military Railway, Hampshire. Later in 1944 it moved to Stratton Engineers Stores Depot, Swindon where it worked until sold in 1947 to the NCB for use at Granville and Hollinswood Collieries, Oakengates, Shropshire. Sold for scrap in April 1970 to John Cashmore Ltd, Great Bridge, Staffordshire. Cast iron, 11½"x8", the front repainted. £200-350 |
