Lot 363 |
A Rhodesia Railways cabside numberplate, 69. Two RR locos were numbered 69 at different times and it is likely that both carried the same numberplates. It became part of Rhodesia Railways in 1927 and this loco was renumbered 76. It was sold to the Zambesi Sawmills Railways in 1938 and was last reported abandoned at Mulobezi. The second loco was a 7th Class 4-8-0 built by Neilson Reid, Works No 5791, in 1900 which was also sold to the ZSR and is currently preserved in Livingstone Museum. Cast brass, 19¼"x13¼", repainted, the back marked 390. £300-500 |
