A worksplate YORKSHIRE ENGINE, 2529 of 1953. From a standard gauge 275HP 0-4-0 diesel electric locomotive built in 1953, but not delivered until May 1954 when it went to Samuel Fox & Co, Ltd, Stocksbridge Steelworks, Yorkshire West Riding as No 22. Later became British Steel Corporation and transferred to the Special Steels Division at Ickles Works, Rotherham as their No 6. Around April 1972 it was transferred to Redpath Engineering Ltd, Cambuslang, Glasgow, still as No 6. Scrapped in April 1987. Cast brass, a hairline crack at the centre base, 11"x6", the front repainted. £100-200 |
