A nameplate, EVERTON, from the LNER B17 Class 4-6-0 No 2863 built by Robert Stephenson & Co, Works No 4125, in February 1937, renumbered 1663 in 1946, becoming BR 61663. Allocated to Cambridge by January 1948, it moved to Stratford in June 1953 and to Colchester in December 1958, returning in November 1959 to Stratford from where it was withdrawn on 20 February 1960 and cut up at Doncaster Works. The nameplate is cast brass, 59" long, and complete with its matching brass football, both mounted on a metal backplate painted in the club colours. £20000-25000 |
