A nameplate COUNTY OF DORSET from the 1000 County Class 4-6-0 No 1013 built at Swindon in February 1946 and named in January 1947. Allocated to Bristol Bath Road by January 1948, it spent most of its BR days at Shrewsbury with spells at Laira, Truro, Penzance, Stafford Road and Swindon from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 18 July 1964 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Newport on 4 September 1964. The left hand side plate, in fine original condition as received from Swindon Works. £8000-10000 |
