A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, QUEEN'S PARK WORKS, 22037, 1918, from a Robinson Great Central Railway type 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Munitions order for the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers in November 1918, ROD No 1979. It was loaned to the LNWR in September 1919, their No 2893, and, after return to the WD in August 1921, stored at Queensferry until sold to the LNER in February 1925, entering traffic in January 1926 as their Class O4 No 6523, renumbered 3837 in 1946, becoming BR 63837. Allocated to Langwith Junction by January 1948 and later Tuxford, Immingham and Colwick from where it was withdrawn on 29 December 1962 and sold for scrap to Round Oak Steelworks at Round Oak. Cast brass, 12¾"x9¾", the front repainted. £350-500 |
