A GWR cabside numberplate, 6854, from a 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in November 1937 and named ROUNDHILL GRANGE after the country house near Wincanton in Somerset. Allocated to Banbury by January 1948, its later sheds included Oxley, Oxford and Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 25 September 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors on 28 October 1965. Cast brass, the front repainted. £1500-1800 |
