| Lot 92 | A GWR cabside numberplate, 2890, from a 2884 Class 2-8-0 built at Swindon in April 1938. Allocated to Cardiff Canton by January 1948, its later sheds included Chester, Southall, Banbury, Swindon and Ebbw Junction from where it was withdrawn on 21 April 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Risca on 2 June 1965. Cast iron, the front repainted. £350-500 |
