A nameplate, UMTSHWAYELI, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Rhodesia Railways 15th Class 4-6-4+4-6-4 Garratt No 372 built by Beyer Peacock, Works No 7268, in 1948. It became part of the National Railways of Zimbabwe in 1980, retaining its RR number. Refurbished in 1981, it was named after a species of Sable Antelope, and was withdrawn in December 1994. Cast brass, length 44½", the front repainted. £300-500 |
