A worksplate, LMS BUILT (1945) DERBY, from a LMS Class 4 2-6-4T No 2205 which became BR 42205. Allocated new to Huddersfield on 21 November 1945 and later Wigan L&Y, Accrington, Polmadie, Motherwell and Perth, moving in May 1954 to Beattock where it spent more than eight years as one of the regular Shap banking locos. Withdrawn from Beattock on 29 December 1962, it was sold for scrap to Motherwell Machinery & Scrap at Wishaw. Cast iron, 10¼"x6", in ex loco condition. £200-300 |
