| Lot 328 | A smokebox numberplate, 30796, from the SR N15 King Arthur Class 4-6-0 No 796 SIR DODINAS le SAVAGE, built at Eastleigh in May 1926 and named after a Knight of the Round Table in Arthurian legend, becoming BR 30796. Allocated to Stewarts Lane by January 1948 and later Dover and Hither Green with a final three years at Salisbury from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 3 March 1962 and cut up at Eastleigh Works on 20 March. In ex loco condition, the Eastleigh triangle cast on the back. £800-1200 |
