A nameplate, SANDWICH, from the LMS Jubilee Class 6P No 5641, later BR 45641, built at Crewe in 1934 and named on 5 May 1936 after the British Admiral, the 1st Earl of Sandwich. Allocated new to Edge Hill, its later sheds were former Midland Railway depots including Kentish Town, Nottingham and Burton from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 19 September 1964 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Great Bridge on 5 May 1965. £6000-8000 |
