A nameplate, KING'S OWN, from the LMS Royal Scot Class 7P 4-6-0 built at Derby and named in September 1930 with the nameplates prefixed by THE, renamed in June 1931 with the correct title of the Lancashire based regiment, both namings without ceremony. Allocated new to Longsight on 8 September 1930, it soon moved to Holyhead and its later sheds included Crewe North, Longsight, Preston and Holbeck from where it was withdrawn on 26 November 1962 and cut up at Crewe Works by 13 December 1963. Cast brass, length 34½", the front repainted. £8000-10000 |
