A ships bell, ROULERS, HARWICH, from a Great Eastern Railway steam ship built in 1894 by Earles of Hull and named SS VIENNA. She worked the Harwich to Hook of Holland route and later Antwerp services. In 1920 she was transferred to the Harwich to Zeebrugge route and renamed ROULERS after the Belgian town situated twenty miles south of Bruges. She passed to the LNER in 1923 and was scrapped in 1930. Cast brass, 9" diameter, with a substantial brass stand, probably original, mounted on a wooden base. Overall height 20:. £600-900 |
