A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 1637, DARLINGTON 1933, from a LNER B17 Class 4-6-0 No 2837, THORPE HALL, built in March 1933 and named, in all probability, after the former manor house at Thorpe-le-Soken in Essex. It was renumbered 1637 in 1946 and became BR 61637. Allocated to Cambridge by January 1948 and later Norwich with a final six years at Ipswich from where it was withdrawn on 24 September 1959 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", in ex loco condition. £1000-1500 |
