A GWR cabside numberplate, 7802, from the 7800 Manor Class 4-6-0 BRADLEY MANOR built at Swindon in January 1938 and named after the 13th Century National Trust property near Newton Abbot. It spent most of its working life at Machynlleth on Cambrian lines duties with brief spells at Tyseley and Shrewsbury from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 6 November 1965 and sold for scrap to Woodham Bros at Barry on 16 December 1965. It was rescued in 1979 by the Erlestoke Manor Fund based at the Severn Valley Railway originally for spares but restored and returned to active service in 1993. £2000-2500 |
