A smokebox numberplate, 32408, from a London Brighton & South Coast Railway E6 Class 0-6-2T No 408 built at Brighton in December 1904 and named BINDERTON after a hamlet near Chichester, although it lost its name in February 1911. It became SR 2408 and BR 32408. A long time Bricklayers Arms engine, it moved at the very end to Feltham and then Eastleigh from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 22 December 1962 and cut up at Eastleigh Works in the week ending 9 February 1963. Ex loco condition. £400-600 |
