A worksplate, BUILT BY (AND ON LOAN TO) LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY Co, DARLINGTON WORKS No 1958, 1945, from a Stanier type 8F 2-8-0 No 8551, BR 48551, built to Railway Executive Committee order and loaned new to the LNER at Heaton in April 1945, classified as their O6 Class, until transferred to the LMS at Crewe South in July 1947. Its BR sheds were Swansea Paxton Street, Willesden, Mold Junction, Crewe South and Heaton Mersey from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 4 May 1968 and despatched for scrap to T.W. Ward at Beighton on 1 August 1968. £250-400 |
