A tenderplate, BRIG, 1556, 1958, coupled new with BR standard Class 9F 2-10-0 No 92245 built at Crewe and allocated new to Ebbw Junction on 4 November 1958. Its later sheds were Old Oak Common, Cardiff Canton, Bath Green Park for three months in 1962, Oxford and Southall from where it was withdrawn on 26 December 1964 and despatched for scrap to Woodham Bros at Barry. It was one of the so called Barry Ten locos still at the scrapyard when Dai Woodham retired and was saved for preservation by Vale of Glamorgan Council. Cast iron, 8"x6", the front repainted. £150-300 |
