A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 63402, DARLINGTON WORKS, 1919, from a North Eastern Railway Class T2, LNER Q6 Class, 0-8-0 built at Darlington in May 1919, NER/LNER No 2245, renumbered 3402 in 1946, becoming BR 63402. It was at Borough Gardens by January 1948 and later Blaydon and North Blyth from where it was withdrawn on 16 September 1964. It was sold for scrap but records vary as to whether the buyer was TW Ward, South Bank or George Cohen, Middlesbrough. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. The locomotive's previous number 3402 is visible under the renumbering strip. £150-300 |
