A nameplate, HOGUE, from the LMS Jubilee Class 6P 4-6-0 No 5683 built at Crewe and named when new on 16 January 1936 after the naval battle which took place off the French Coast in May 1692, becoming BR 45683. Allocated new to Crewe North, it spent most of its BR days at Millhouses before moving towards the end to Canklow and Darnall from where it was withdrawn on 29 December 1962 and cut up at Crewe Works by 26 March 1964. £6000-8000 |
