A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, QUEENS PARK, 22185, 1919, from a Robinson Great Central Railway type 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Munitions order for the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers in May 1919, ROD No 2095. It was loaned to the Great Central Railway in October 1919 and, after return to the WD in August 1921, stored at Morecambe until sold to the LNER in February 1927, entering traffic in April 1929 as their Class O4 No 6629, renumbered 3873 in 1947, becoming BR 63873. Allocated to Annesley by January 1948, it moved in 1950 to Gorton and in 1954 to Colwick from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 15 January 1966 and sold for scrap to George Cohen at Kettering. Cast brass, 12¾"x5¼", the front cleaned but unpainted. £150-300 |
