A nameplate, BIDEFORD, together with its WEST COUNTRY CLASS scroll,from the Southern Railway West Country Class 4-6-2 light pacific No 21C119 built at Brighton in December 1945, becoming BR 34019 and retaining its original streamlined casing to the end. Allocated new to Exmouth Junction and later Nine Elms, Brighton, Feltham, Eastleigh and finally back to Nine Elms from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 18 March 1967 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Newport on 11 September 1967. Cast brass, length 63", the front repainted. £9000-12000 |
