A nameplate, CUNARD WHITE STAR, from the Southern Railway Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 Pacific No 21C4 built at Eastleigh in October 1941 and named after probably the most famous shipping line in the world at a ceremony held at Charing Cross station on New Year's Day 1942 by Cunard's Chairman Sir Percy E. Bates. It became BR 35004 and was rebuilt without its streamlined casing in July 1958. Allocated new to Salisbury, it moved in 1942 to Exmouth Junction, returning to Salisbury in 1948 and to Exmouth Junction in 1950, Salisbury again in 1957, finishing its days at Bournemouth from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 30 October 1965 and cut up at Eastleigh shed by a Ringwood based scrap merchant.
