A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, 25177, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built in May 1943 to Ministry of Supply order, WD No 77312. Loaned new to the LMS, it returned to the WD in January 1945 and was loaned to the LNER in September 1947 before purchase by BR, becoming No 90227. Allocated to St Margarets by January 1948, its later sheds included Mold Junction and Staveley Barrow Hill from where it was withdrawn on 26 September 1965 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Great Bridge on 23 November 1965. Cast white brass, 13¾"x5½", the front repainted. £150-300 |
