A tenderplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 8437, GATESHEAD, 1905, from the tender coupled with North Eastern Railway Class P2 0-6-0 No 406 built at Gateshead in June 1905 which became LNER J26 Class No 5761 and BR 65761, although in later years tenders were frequently exchanged. No 65761 was long time Newport NER engine until moving in June 1958 to the new Thornaby shed from where it was withdrawn on 18 June 1962 and cut up at Darlington Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front cleaned but unpainted. £100-200 |
