A worksplate, No 2113 DARLINGTON 1950, from a (LMS) Class 4 2-6-0 No 43071 allocated new to Darlington on 6 September 1950. Its later sheds included West Auckland, Tweedmouth (sub-shedded at Alnmouth), Thornaby, York North and North Blyth from where it was withdrawn on 6 March 1967 and sold for scrap to Arnott Young at Fighting Cocks. Engraved brass, 12½"x6½", the front lightly polished, the back stamped 3071. £250-400 |
