A worksplate, L&NER, 1791, 1921, from a Great Northern Railway Class H3 2-6-0 No 1701 built by Kitson & Co, Works No 5351, in August 1921. It became LNER K2 Class No 1791 and, following its transfer to Scotland, was named LOCH LAGGAN in May 1933 after the Loch near Tulloch. It was renumbered 1791 in 1946 and became BR 61791. Apart from three months at Eastfield in 1953 it spent all its BR days at Fort William from where it was withdrawn on 22 March 1960 and cut up at Cowlairs Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £300-500 |
