A worksplate, BUILT BY AND ON LOAN TO LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY Co, DONCASTER WORKS, No 1968, 1944, from a Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 No 8520 built to Railway Executive Committee order and loaned new to the LNER at Gorton in October 1944, classified as their O6 Class, until transferred to the LMS at Wakefield in November 1946, becoming BR 48520. Its BR sheds were Warrington Dallam and Speke Junction from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 1 October 1966 and cut up by Drapers at Hull in the week ending 25 February 1967. Cast iron, 13½"x8", the front repainted. £350-500 |
