A London and North Western Railway ships bell from the Holyhead to Dublin steamer CAMBRIA. The first ship to carry the name operated between 1848 and 1894. This bell is from the ship built in 1897. Following the renaming of the ship the bell was transferred to a new vessel in 1920, which was scrapped in 1949. Cast brass, 12" base diameter, the top stamped L&NWR. An LNWR postcard of the ship accompanies the lot. (see the two following lots) £250-400 |
