A worksplate, NASMYTH WILSON, 1452, 1925, from a LMS Class 3P 4-4-2T No 2124, allocated the number 1942 in 1947 but renumbered directly to 41942 by BR. Built specifically for use on the London Tilbury & Southend line, it was at Shoeburyness by January 1935, moving in 1939 to Tilbury and in 1945 to Plaistow, before returning to Tilbury and finishing its days at Stratford from where it was withdrawn on 29 December 1956 and cut up at Derby Works during the week ending 5 January 1957. Cast brass, 13¾"x5½", the front repainted. £300-500 |
