A nameplate EBBW VALE, together with worksplate PECKETT 1016, 1904. The nameplate was carried by a standard gauge 0-6-0ST, Peckett 1015 of 1904, new to Ebbw Vale Co, Ebbw Vale Steel & Iron Works, Monmouthshire. Taken over by Richard Thomas & Co. Ltd. in 1935. In 1956 the locomotive was rebuilt with the frames of sister locomotive SIRHOWY, Peckett 1016, 1904, and it henceforward carried the latter’s worksplates. Scrapped at Ebbw Vale around September 1961. The nameplate cast brass, length 36", the worksplate engraved brass, 11½"x8¼", the set displayed on a wooden mount, the front repainted. (2) £700-1000 |
