A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 60825, DARLINGTON, 1938, from a LNER V2 Class 2-6-2 No 4796 built in January 1938, renumbered 825 in 1945, becoming BR 60825. Allocated to Aberdeen Ferryhill by January 1948, it moved the following year to St Margarets where it spent almost the remainder of its working life with a final brief stay at Dundee Tay Bridge from where it was withdrawn on 27 April 1964 and cut up at Cowlairs Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the face cleaned but unpainted. £250-400 |
