| Lot 12 | A worksplate, KITSON, 1912, from a Great Central Railway Class 8K 2-8-0 No 1198 built by Kitson, Works No 4906, in September 1912. It became LNER O4 Class No 6198 and was renumbered 3545 in 1946 and 3719 in 1947, becoming BR 63719. Allocated to Doncaster by January 1948, it moved in May 1960 to Gorton from where it was withdrawn on 1 August 1961 and cut up at nearby Gorton Works in the week ending 9 September 1961. Engraved brass, 10½"x6¼", the front lightly polished. £250-400 |
