A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 9820, SHARP STEWART, 1901, from a North British Railway Class D 0-6-0T No 820 built by Sharp Stewart, Works No 4728, in April 1901. It became LNER J83 Class No 9820 and was renumbered 8467 in 1946, becoming BR 68467. Allocated to Thornton Junction by January 1948, it moved in September 1956 to Polmont from where it was withdrawn on 2 September 1959 and sold for scrap to J.N. Connell at Coatbridge on 28 October 1959. Cast iron, 9"x5", in ex loco condition. £200-350 |
