A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 2468, COWLAIRS, 1913, from a North British Railway Class K 4-4-0 No 221 built at Cowlairs in September 1913 and named GLEN ORCHY after the West Highland Glen in the vicinity of Bridge of Orchy. It became LNER D34 Class No 9221 and was renumbered 2468 in 1946, becoming BR 62468. A long time Thornton Junction engine, it was withdrawn from there on 3 September 1958 and cut up at Inverurie Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £500-800 |
