A worksplate, ANDREW BARCLAY, 1446, 1916, from a standard gauge 0-4-0ST new to the Ministry of Munitions, Royal Ordnance Factory, Linwood, near Paisley, Renfrewshire with the running number 4. Later with Carntyne Iron & Steel Co. Ltd, Carntyne, Lanarkshire. Passed to the dealers Thomas W. Ward Ltd, Sheffield around 1921. Sold 1927 to Turners Asbestos Cement Co. Ltd., Farnworth, Lancashire where it was named EVERITE. Scrapped circa January 1969. Cast brass, 16¾"x11¾", the front repainted. £200-350 |
