A headboard, THE ROYAL SCOT, as carried by the Euston to Glasgow (Central) express. The title was first used in July 1927 and, after suspension during the war years, re-introduced in February 1948. This style of headboard was introduced in about 1951. The train was usually hauled by a Princess Coronation class loco with an engine change at Carlisle. The train's last titled run, with modern traction, was on 1 June 2002. Cast aluminium, overall 33"x15½", in ex loco condition. £2000-2500 |
