A worksplate HUDSWELL CLARKE DE1075, 1959, from a 400HP standard gauge 0-6-0 diesel-electric locomotive, built in association with Brush Electrical Engineering of Loughborough, who supplied the generator and electrical equipment. New to the Manchester Ship Canal as D4001 ALNWICK CASTLE, the first diesel locomotive the company purchased. Later passed into preservation and is currently out of use at Winfields Megastore, Haslingden, Lancashire. Cast brass, 12½"x8", the front lightly polished. £500-800 |
