| Lot 243 | A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 9164, COWLAIRS, 1913, from a North British Railway Class A 0-6-2T No 223 built, not at Cowlairs Works, but by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 20165, in May 1913. It became LNER N19 Class No 9223 and was renumbered 9164 in 1946, becoming BR 69164. A long time Dunfermline engine, it spent a final year at Dundee Tay Bridge from where it was withdrawn on 15 April 1959 and sold for scrap to Motherwell Machinery & Scrap at Wishaw. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £150-300 |
