A late 19th century GER mahogany roundhead fusee clock of typical design. Used originally at Liverpool Street, Loco. Dept. timekeeperメs office, transferred in 1941 to timekeeperメs office at Pyewipe under the Lincoln Yard Master. Overall height: 13¾ inches. The box of thick wood typical of GER. One piece convex moulded dial surround housing cast brass bezel. Box and surround branded GER to the rear several times. Bottom door lock replaced with brass turn. Box with sections cut out from top - now filled and from the inside of the surround at the top and the dial with an arc cut out at top, now filled; all modifications probably to allow pendulum to be set in motion from the top. 12 inch re-painted dial re-written GER and with Ivorine number plate marked 946 as fitted to many LNER ex-GER clocks. Chain fusee movement between rectangular plates, front plate stamped GER. Complete with pendulum scratched GER, winder and copies of record entries. £400-600 |
