A nameplate, PRINCESS BEATRICE, from the GWR 4000 Star Class 4-6-0 No 4052 built at Swindon in June 1914 and named after a daughter (1857-1944) of Queen Victoria who became Princess Henry of Battenberg. Allocated to Oxford by January 1948, it spent its final years at Hereford, Worcester and Shrewsbury from where it was withdrawn on 30 June 1953 and cut up at Swindon Works in the four weeks ending 5 September 1953.
