A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, 25049, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built in July 1943 to Ministry of Supply order, WD No 7178, later 77178. Loaned new to the LNER as their Class O7, it was allocated to Thornton Junction, returning to the WD in December 1944, and loaned again to the LNER in September 1947, allocated to Annesley, before being purchased by BR in December 1949, becoming No 90162. Its BR sheds included Immingham, New England, Langwith Junction and Canklow from where it was withdrawn on 24 February 1964 and subsequently scrapped. Cast white brass, 13¾"x5½", the front repainted. £150-300 |
