A worksplate, BEYER PEACOCK, 1903, from a Great Central Railway Class 9J 0-6-0 No 218 built by Beyer Peacock, Works No 4544, which became LNER J11 Class No 5218 and was renumbered 4340 in 1946, becoming BR 64340. A long time Retford GC engine, it was withdrawn from there on 4 August 1958 and cut up at Gorton Works in the week ending 11 October 1958. Cast brass, 6½"x4¼", the front repainted. £350-500 |
